A person allegedly shot and killed his daughter after she refused to marry her cousin. The incident occurred in Rawalpindi’s Waris Khan area, and police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed by the victim’s mother, the girl had been engaged to her paternal cousin last year with her consent. However, as the wedding date approached, she refused to proceed with the marriage and did not give any reason for her decision.
Angered by the refusal, the father — identified as Mumtaz Khan — allegedly shot his daughter in the head with a pistol. She was taken to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
The accused fled the scene following the incident. Waris Khan Police Station have begun a search for his arrest.
