The Met Department has forecast widespread rain and thunderstorms across various parts of the country today, including the federal capital, while extreme heat is expected to continue in most districts of Sindh.
According to the Met Office, Islamabad and surrounding areas are likely to remain partly cloudy throughout the day, with chances of gusty winds, thundershowers, and hailstorms at isolated locations.
Heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds is expected in multiple districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Waziristan, Kohat, Hangu, Lakki Marwat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Karak, Khyber, Peshawar, Swabi, Charsadda, Mardan, Kurram, and Bannu.
Rain and thunderstorms are also likely in parts of northern and central Punjab, such as Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum. The wet spell is expected to extend into major cities of the province, including Lahore, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Narowal, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Multan, Layyah, and Bhakkar.

In Lahore, the recent rain has brought a noticeable drop in temperatures, with the minimum recorded at 23°C and the maximum expected to hover around 32°C. The wind speed was recorded at 5km/h, and the humidity level stood at 68%.
Meteorologists have predicted a 20% chance of further rain in the city today, while an alert has been issued to the district administration in light of the current weather conditions.
Meanwhile, most districts of Sindh are likely to remain extremely hot and dry, with no immediate relief expected. However, strong winds and rain have been forecast for Sukkur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, and Larkana.
In Balochistan, rain is expected later in the evening in Zhob, Musakhel, Barkhan, and Quetta. Showers accompanied by strong winds are also likely in Kalat, Sibi, and Khuzdar.
