Six independent candidates from Punjab decided on Wednesday to join the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
The development came after the lawmakers called on PML-N Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz in Lahore.
Prominent among those who joined the PML-N were Sultan Bajwa (PP-132 Nankana Sahib), Shazia Tareen (PP-225 Lodhran), Mehmood Qadir (PP-289), Hanif Pitafi (PP-288 Dera Ghazi Khan), Taimoor Lali (PP-94), and Ali Asghar Gurmani (PP-283).
On this occasion, Maryam Nawaz expressed her gratitude to the lawmakers for joining the PML-N. "Your [lawmakers] joining will pave the way for the uplift and prosperity of the people of Punjab."

The lawmakers had felicitated Maryam Nawaz for being nominated as the Punjab chief minister.

Earlier today, Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman felicitated PML-N Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz for being nominated for the post of Punjab chief minister.
Zaman called on Maryam in Lahore. On this occasion, Zaman apprised Maryam of the province's security situation.
He had also briefed Maryam about the development projects, law and order situation in Punjab.
