In a recent turn of events, the nomination papers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan for the NA-122 constituency in Lahore have been rejected by the returning officer.
The decision comes following an eight-page written verdict, citing Imran Khan's conviction for moral turpitude.

According to the written decision issued by the returning officer for NA-122, the Additional Sessions Judge of Islamabad had sentenced the former Chairman of PTI for a crime of moral turpitude, and this conviction has not been suspended or annulled.
The verdict outlined a five-year disqualification under Article 63-1 of the Constitution, a penalty that remains in effect.
The objections filed by former PMLN MPA Mian Naseer Ahmed against Imran Khan's candidacy were deemed valid by the returning officer, leading to the rejection of the nomination papers.
