Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Azma Bukhari on Thursday asked the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to “come out of the politics of the 90s.”

Expressing her thoughts in Lahore, Azma said: “The facts cannot be changed by causing uproar ahead of the general elections. The country cannot bear such hollow politics.

“The PPP believes that PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif will become the premier for the fourth time. The PPP knows and understands that the only way to save its politics is to take the name of Nawaz Sharif," she added.

Azma urged the PPP to focus on their election campaign and work hard rather than feeling "jealous.”

PML-N leader retired Captain Safdar Awan lambasted on Sunday the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying the party had "harmed" the country's economy.

Speaking to media in Mandi Bahauddin, Safdar highlighted the importance of transparent elections in the country. "The country will only move forward if transparent polls are held," he said.

The PML-N stalwart said: "PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif does not believe in the elections based on rigging".

Expressing his thoughts about legislation, Safdar stated, "Only the political party with a two-thirds majority can make legislation.

He commended Nawaz Sharif, saying, "Nawaz Sharif has a track record of pulling the country out of the quagmire."
