In preparation for the upcoming elections in Islamabad, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has finalized a comprehensive plan outlining the electoral landscape for the federal capital.
Revealed details indicate that a total of 990 polling stations will be established across three constituencies, catering to a substantial voter base of one million and eighty-three thousand thirty registered individuals.
The document obtained by Samaa TV, delineates the division of the federal capital into three distinct constituencies: NA 46, NA 47, and NA 48. Each constituency's specifics, including population distribution, registered voter count, proposed polling stations, and election personnel, are intricately outlined within the document.
The demographic statistics highlight that Islamabad's overall population stands at an estimated 2.36 million, with a significant subset represented by the registered voters totaling 1.83 million. To accommodate this electorate, a network of 1096 polling booths is slated for construction.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the electoral process, the electoral watchdog plans to appoint a cadre of officials, including 1,040 presiding officers, 3,251 assistant presiding officers, and an equivalent number of polling officers. Additionally, 1,400 senior assistant polling officers will be deployed across the three constituencies, emphasizing the commitment to uphold the integrity and efficiency of the electoral proceedings.
