Punjab caretaker Information Minister Amir Mir on Friday made it clear that all the public schools in Punjab will remain open on December 2 (Saturday).
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Mir said: "The winter vactions will start from December 18 to January 1 in the public schools."
The minister went on to say that all the markets, shops and restaurants will remain open across Punjab on Saturday and Sunday.
In the upcoming week, steps will be taken considering the situation of the smog in the province.

The announcement, made by the education department spokesperson, follows the decision of the department's annual steering committee, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the previously established schedule.
