Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand about the Makkah Joint Defence Pact, regional peace and security, and the growing tensions between the United States and Iran.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Dar has contacted Anand on Sunday to discuss the regional situation, including the Makkah Joint Defence Pact.
Leaders vow to extend cooperation for peace
The two leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to cooperation for regional peace, stability and security. They also discussed the emerging situation amid tensions between the United States and Iran.
Dar briefed the Canadian foreign minister on the situation in occupied Jerusalem and the Jordan meeting.
The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact on matters of mutual interest.
