The accountability court of Islamabad has approved the pre-arrest bail of Bushra Bibi in the 190-million-pound Al-Qadir Trust case.
The interim bail was extended till September 26, while the court also issued a notice to the parties concerned for the same date.
The court also ordered the NAB investigation officer to appear on the next hearing with the case record.
On the other hand, Bushra Bibi also excused herself from appearing before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). She submitted a written response to the bureau in this regard.
Accountability court judge Muhammad Bashir heard the case. Bushra Bibi's lawyer Latif Khosa appeared in the court and said that NAB had given a statement in the Al-Qadir Trust case that they did not require his client’s arrest.
Today Bushra Bibi had a meeting with her husband Imran Khan, and NAB also summoned her today. Khosa requested the court to ask NAB to adjourn the hearing for another day.
Prosecutor Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi said NAB did not yet require the arrest of Bushra Bibi in Al Qadir Trust case.
On behalf of Bushra Bibi, her lawyer Latif Khosa filed a pre-arrest bail application in the Al-Qadir Trust case also. The court granted her the bail against a surety bond of Rs100,000. The hearing was adjourned till September 26.

On the other hand, Bushra Bibi excused herself from appearing before NAB in the Toshakhana investigation. Through lawyer Naeem Haider Panjotha, the former first lady submitted her response to NAB that she has to appear in two or three courts, including the accountability court.
She further said the authorities allowed her to meet her husband Imran Khan in Attock Jail only on Tuesdays. She said she was ready to join the investigation but requested for another date for hearing the case as she is scheduled to meet the PTI chairman today.
Meanwhile, the district and sessions court also extended Bushra Bibi’s interim bail in the case of fake receipts of the Toshakhana gifts.
The prosecutor told the court that an audio had been sent to the FIA which may turn out in their favor. If the audio doesn’t match after a forensic test they may not need her arrest, NAB Prosecutor Tahir Kazim said.
Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra remarked that the prosecution was apparently using delaying tactics.
The suspect is a woman, so there would not be a remand, Tahir Kazim said, asking that if she did not appear before the FIA, how the audio will be matched.
The suspect should be directed to appear before the FIA, the prosecutor requested. The judge remarked that the last chance was being given for voice matching.
The court extended the interim bail of Bushra Bibi till September 26.
