A rare Pokémon trading card owned by online celebrity and WWE wrestler Logan Paul has been auctioned for a record-breaking price of more than $16.4 million.
The card - featuring Pikachu - is one of just 39 prize cards printed for a 1998 Pokémon illustration contest. It is also the only card to receive a perfect 10 out of 10 grading from Professional Sports Authenticator, making it exceptionally valuable among collectors.
Paul originally purchased the card in 2021 for $5.275 million, setting a world record at the time for the most expensive Pokémon card ever sold. In 2022, he famously wore the card around his neck during his debut at WrestleMania.
The card was later listed for auction through Goldin, where it was sold to investor Anthony Scaramucci for $16.492 million.
Following the sale, the Pikachu card has now become the most expensive Pokémon card - and the most valuable trading card - ever sold at auction, underscoring the growing demand for rare collectibles in the global memorabilia market.
