The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued its forecast for the holy month of Ramazan, outlining expected temperatures and the rainfall outlook across the country.
According to the department, most parts of the country are likely to witness dry weather during the first ten days of the fasting month. Daytime temperatures are expected to rise gradually.
Weather experts have cautioned that no significant spell of rain is expected in February, and there is no forecast of any sudden change in weather conditions across Pakistan. Day temperatures are likely to remain higher than usual.
Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Deputy Director Irfan Virk has said there is no rain-bearing system currently expected anywhere in the country that could abruptly alter the prevailing conditions.
In parts of Sindh, the intensity of heat may increase earlier than usual. Fasting citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun, particularly during the afternoon hours.
Referring to areas such as Mithi, Thatta and Badin, officials advised residents to limit direct exposure to sunlight.
However, the PMD has indicated the possibility of rainfall during the second and third ten-day periods of Ramazan. Isolated showers may occur in northern areas of the country, central Punjab and the Potohar region.
