A recently surfaced report from Adiala Jail’s superintendent revealed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan has access to a dedicated 7-cell compound, complete with exercise equipment, a large lawn, and specially prepared meals, offering comfort far beyond standard prison facilities.
The seven-cell compound, reserved solely for the PTI founder, has a capacity to hold 30 to 35 prisoners. It features a 57-foot-long, 14-foot-wide corridor and an adjacent 35-by-37-foot lawn.
The founder uses this space for sunbathing, reading books and newspapers, and light exercise. Gym equipment, including a cycling machine, is also available for physical activity.
According to the report, the founder enjoys unrestricted access to natural light and fresh air from morning until evening, creating a secure yet comfortable environment within the prison.
Gourmet Meals in Jail
The superintendent’s report outlines the founder’s three-time meal plan:
-
Breakfast: Dates, walnuts, honey, coffee porridge, lassi, hot milk, chia seeds, masmi, and pomegranate juice.
-
Lunch: Local chicken, mutton, salad, achar mix, potato chips, fried eggs, and mixed lentils.
-
Evening Refreshments: Almonds, raisins, coconut powder, milk, banana, apple, and date shakes.
These meals reflect a variety of nutritious options, emphasizing both traditional and health-focused foods.
Safety and well-being measures
The report highlights that the PTI founder is kept in a secure, well-monitored environment, with enhanced safety and privacy measures. The compound’s layout allows for personal space and recreational activities while maintaining security protocols.
Superintendent Adiala’s report suggests that these arrangements are intended to ensure the founder’s physical well-being, access to reading and exercise, and a safe environment throughout incarceration.
