A 12-year-old student in the United States has successfully carried out nuclear fusion and is now aiming to secure a place in the Guinness World Records.
Aidan McMullen, a student from Dallas in the state of Texas, said he began working on the project at the age of eight. Before building the initial prototypes, he spent two years studying nuclear physics.
He added that he had to work hard to reassure his mother about the project. She would often ask what could go wrong and how it might happen, urging him to ensure that nothing would malfunction.
The project was ultimately completed with the successful execution of nuclear fusion.
Aidan is expected to submit evidence to Guinness World Records soon. However, the current record is held by Jackson Oswalt.
