Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has left the question of a handshake with Pakistan open ahead of the much-awaited contest in Colombo on Saturday.
Speaking to the media, the Indian T20I captain said that a decision on a handshake with Pakistani players could wait for another 24 hours.
He praised Pakistan’s spin attack, terming it as strong and effective. “We expect a good contest against Pakistan,” he said.
Suryakumar said matches between Pakistan and India always carry pressure. He added that players must control their nerves and play good cricket.
He maintained that in the T20 cricket, even one or two batters can turn the tide of a match.
The Indian captain said the two sides do not play each other often, though such matters are beyond the players’ control.
He said Pakistan played good cricket in the Asia Cup and are still performing well.
“We have come here to play good cricket,” he added.
Suryakumar confirmed that Abhishek Sharma is fit and that the team’s morale is high.
