Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formally launched the Ramazan Relief Package 2026, allocating Rs38 billion to support millions of families across Pakistan.
The premier pledged transparent digital disbursement and personal oversight to ensure effective implementation.
Prime Minister Sharif inaugurated the Ramazan Relief Package 2026 by pressing a button at the launch ceremony. An amount of Rs38 billion has been allocated for the special Ramazan package aimed at providing financial relief during the holy month.
Under the program, Rs13,000 will be provided to each eligible family without discrimination. The prime minister announced that a total of 12.1 million families will receive financial assistance under the package.
Of these, more than 2.1 million families are not part of any existing sponsorship program and have been newly included. Additionally, Rs10 billion has been allocated for 10 million families who are already dependent on government support programs.
Digital transfer
Shehbaz said the relief amount will be transferred directly to beneficiaries through digital wallets and digital bank accounts. He emphasized that funds will reach deserving individuals in every corner of the country through modern digital systems to ensure transparency and efficiency.
The prime minister stated that the total number of people benefiting from the Ramazan Relief Package will reach 60 million. He described the initiative as a major step to provide relief to low-income households amid economic challenges.
Monitoring and helpline established
To ensure smooth execution, a committee of federal ministers has been formed to monitor all stages of the Ramazan package. A dedicated helpline, 9999, has also been established for public convenience and to address complaints or queries.
PM Shehbaz said he will personally review the program regularly to ensure effective implementation and timely delivery of funds.
