Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to brief him on the country’s overall security situation, including developments in the federal capital. The meeting also confirmed Naqvi’s visit to Sri Lanka.
During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi provided a comprehensive briefing on the overall security situation across the country. The prime minister was also given a detailed update on the prevailing law and order situation in Islamabad.
Improved security management
Prime Minister Sharif directed the interior minister to resolve security issues in Islamabad in a very good manner. He emphasized the need to ensure effective handling of security matters and other related concerns in the federal capital.
Visit to Sri Lanka
The meeting also highlighted Mohsin Naqvi’s visit to Sri Lanka today. During the visit, the interior minister will convey a special message from Prime Minister Sharif to the Sri Lankan president.
After the meeting, the minister departed for Colombo, where he is scheduled to meet the Pakistan World Cup squad this evening. Naqvi will also watch the Pakistan-India match tomorrow.

The visit is expected to further strengthen diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
Earlier, it had been reported that ICC Chairman Jay Shah invited PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to watch the high-profile encounter in Colombo. The blockbuster contest between the arch-rivals is set to be attended by several senior cricket officials, making it more than just a sporting event.
According to sources, Shah personally invited Naqvi to watch the match in Colombo. Shah is also expected to be present at the stadium to witness the high-voltage encounter between the two neighboring nations.
