Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan will be shifted to the Islamabad jail once its construction is complete.
Speaking to the media, Naqvi said: "The Islamabad jail will be completed within two months. All medical facilities are available inside the prison. Imran Khan was sentenced by an Islamabad court and will be transferred to the Islamabad jail."
Separately, addressing a passing-out parade at Police Lines, the federal interior minister said it was an important day for the federal police. He said there had been no dedicated force to combat terrorism. "A course was initiated three months ago and the six-month programme was completed in three months through day and night effort," Naqvi maintained.
He said credit goes to the officers who trained the personnel, adding that police training schools in Islamabad are being upgraded and people from other areas will also come here for training. He expressed hope that the young officers will work with dedication to eliminate terrorists. He also congratulated the Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) on the successful completion of the training.
