The Meteorological Department has forecast light rain in the city on the first day of Ramadan as a new western weather system approaches the country.
Deputy Director of the Meteorological Department, Anjum Nazir Zaigham, said a fresh western circulation will enter Pakistan on February 17, potentially affecting weather conditions in the coming days.
According to the Met Office, under the influence of the new system, light rain, showers, or drizzle are likely in the city on February 18 and 19, which coincide with the first of Ramadan.
Anjum Nazir Zaigham stated that there is a strong possibility of rain accompanied by full or partly cloudy weather on the first day of the holy month.
Thundershowers in rural Sindh
He added that thundershowers are also expected in various districts of rural Sindh as the weather system moves across the region.
The deputy director further said that successive westerly wind systems are likely to enter the country in March.
These systems could bring rainfall to several cities across Pakistan in the coming weeks.
According to the Meteorological Department, the city’s minimum temperature was recorded at 18.2°C on Thursday, while the maximum reached 31.6°C.
