A Rawalpindi anti-terrorism court (ATC) has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Aleema Khan over her absence in a case registered in connection with the protest held on November 26.
During the hearing, Aleema Khan and her counsel failed to appear before the court. Taking notice of the absence, the ATC had issued non-bailable arrest warrants and added that there was neither any justification nor exemption for the accused’s failure to attend the proceedings.
Special Prosecutor Zaheer Shah had appeared before the court along with his team. The prosecution submitted a request to include NCCIA Assistant Director Salman Niaz in the list of witnesses, which the court approved. Further hearing of the case was adjourned for one day.
