A 90-year-old American English teacher has been awarded a Guinness World Record for her remarkable 67-year teaching career.
Beverly Hanet Price, who teaches English at Detroit Country Day School in Beverly Hills, Michigan, received the honor during a surprise ceremony held in her recognition on Monday.
Among the guest speakers was Courtney B. Vance, a former student who later became a Tony and Emmy Award-winning actor. Vance praised Price, saying she taught him how to write and organize his thoughts effectively - a skill that continues to benefit him, and one reason they still stay in touch.
Starting her teaching career in 1958, Hanet Price has counted among her former students actors like Robin Williams and former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.
Speaking at the ceremony, she expressed no plans to retire, saying she loves the school and is passionate about teaching.
