Preparations are underway to celebrate the traditional festival of Basant on the rooftops of government schools in Lahore.
Ten government schools in central Lahore have been designated for Basant festivities this year. The Lahore Education Authority has submitted a report regarding these arrangements to the School Education Department.
The schools where Basant will be celebrated include Government High Schools at Bhatti Gate, Delhi Gate, Syed Mitha Bazaar, and Shah Alam Gate. Other designated schools are Government Victoria Girls High School, Takia Sadhwan, Kabli Mill, and Chuna Mandi.
School supervisory staff have been instructed to remain on duty 24 hours a day for three days to ensure smooth conduct of the festival. Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner will visit the schools to review the arrangements.
