Move over seasoned players — 2-year-old Jude Owens from Manchester is rewriting the record books. The toddler has claimed two Guinness World Records for snooker, stunning fans and professionals alike with his trick-shot skills.
On January 27, Guinness World Records confirmed that Jude Owens, at just 2 years and 261 days old, became the youngest person to make a snooker double pot. For the uninitiated, a double pot occurs when two balls are potted into separate pockets with a single strike of the cue ball — a feat requiring precision even for adults.
Jude didn’t stop there. At 2 years and 302 days, he also became the youngest person to execute a pool bank shot, hitting the cue ball off one or more rails before potting a ball.
Early talent and creative solutions
Luke Owens, Jude’s father, told Guinness World Records that his son’s talent was evident from his very first strike at the age of two and a half. Playing on full-size adult snooker tables proved challenging, but the family found inventive solutions.
“At first it was really difficult. We used bar stools from anywhere we went,” Luke Owens said. “Eventually, we found a stool we mainly used for cooking, but it became perfect for Jude’s snooker shots.”

When asked who would win a match between him and his dad — who started playing snooker at age 10 — Jude confidently said, “Me!” Luke added that while Jude hasn’t beaten him yet, it might happen in the coming years.
In addition to his world records, Jude has become the youngest-known snooker sponsor recipient and made a special walk-out appearance at the 2025 UK Snooker Championship.
He has already met professional snooker stars like Jimmy White, John Parrot, and Kyren Wilson, all of whom have praised his skills and potential.
