A major theft was reported at a jewellery shop in Samanabad, Faisalabad, where suspects escaped after lifting and taking away a safe filled with gold.
According to the shop owner, the safe contained more than 34 tolas of gold, with an estimated value of nearly Rs18 million. The incident took place late last night when two suspects entered the jewellery shop and removed the safe. The entire incident was recorded by CCTV cameras installed inside the shop, and the footage has since come to light.
Police said an investigation is under way and efforts are being made to identify and arrest the suspects with the help of the CCTV footage. The shop owner has demanded the early arrest of those involved and the recovery of the stolen gold.
