The decision to revise school working hours in Sindh has been extended due to severe cold weather.
According to details surfaced on Sunday, the decision applies equally to government and private schools. According to the Sindh Education Department spokesperson for the , the revised school arrival time has been extended until February 5. Until that date, schools will open at 9:00 am. The extension was granted in view of the continuing cold spell.
In Punjab, schools reopened on January 19 following the winter holidays. Winter vacations had begun on 20 December, during which students received a total of 30 days off.
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat stated that all schools reopened from 19 January after an assessment of weather conditions and temperature levels. Under the revised schedule, schools now open at 8:45 am. These academic timings will remain in force from January 19 until April 15, 2026.
