Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the federal cabinet authorised Pakistan’s participation in the 'Board of Peace' for Gaza.
Speaking to the media in London, the prime minister said Pakistan joined the international board with the hope of peace in Gaza. He said Pakistan received an invitation to join the Board of Peace. After consultation, the cabinet granted the authority, following which Pakistan joined the forum. He expressed the hope that Palestinians would receive their rights with dignity and respect, and that stability would return to the region.
The prime minister said the rights of Palestinians would be secured with honour, Gaza would undergo reconstruction, and peace would prevail across the region.
He said meetings with global leaders in Davos were cordial. The US president conveyed good wishes for Pakistan, while the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund praised Pakistan’s reform efforts.
