Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan lauded the National Highway Authority (NHA) for ensuring uninterrupted access to highways despite heavy snowfall.
He urged the public to cooperate with field staff and highlighted the government’s commitment to road safety in challenging weather.
Abdul Aleem Khan commended the NHA staff for maintaining traffic flow on major routes in Murree, Chitral, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir. He described the field staff and workers as “our real national asset” for their dedication in the most difficult conditions.
The minister noted that salting on the Murree Expressway and other highways, alongside heavy machinery operations, helped prevent accidents and ensured safe travel for motorists.
Cooperation from travelers urged
Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized the importance of travelers and tourists cooperating fully with NHA field teams on difficult routes. He said that public support is crucial to maintain smooth traffic and prevent mishaps during extreme weather conditions.
The minister has directed the NHA to be fully prepared for the next series of snowstorms across the country. He reaffirmed that providing uninterrupted highway access and safeguarding public convenience is a top national priority.
