Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari said on Saturday that strict standard operating procedures (SoPs) would be enforced throughout the festival to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
In a video message, the provincial minister said the government considered public enjoyment and public safety its top priority. She reiterated that the Basant Festival would take place in Lahore on February 6, 7 and 8.
Azma said the event aimed to revive Punjab’s cultural colours, traditions and festivities. She termed Basant as a symbol of Punjab’s ancient civilisation, culture and joy.
Azma added that citizens would be able to enjoy the festival in a safe, pleasant and responsible environment.
