A wild deer caused chaos at a Webster Bank branch in Ridge, Long Island, after smashing through a window and running loose inside, according to dramatic footage released by local police.
The Suffolk County officers responding to the scene were met with an unusual intruder when the bank’s burglary alarm went off.
One officer warned a colleague about the deer’s antlers before entering the building. Video shows the buck bumping into office furniture, hopping over desks, and scattering papers in its frantic attempt to escape.
At one point, the animal became stuck in a cubicle, forcing officers to carefully grab it by the antlers and maneuver it toward an exit.
Broken glass, overturned chairs, and a chaotic office scene lined the deer's path. After several tense moments, the officers successfully lassoed the deer and guided it safely back outside.
The alarm continued to blare throughout the building during the incident, adding to the mayhem. Authorities said no one was injured.
This is not the first time such an event has occurred on Long Island. In October 2019, a deer crashed through a hair salon window, injuring a customer, highlighting the region’s occasional wildlife encounters in urban areas.
