Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Salman Akram Raja said on Tuesday that 'corruption and callousness' lay behind the Gul Plaza fire tragedy in Karachi.
Speaking to media in Rawalpindi, Raja said the incident was extremely tragic and could not be ignored. He said the matter would be raised at every level. Moreover, he said the government had done no favour by issuing notifications for opposition leaders, adding that the issuance of notifications was merely an acknowledgement of constitutional reality.
Referring to remarks by Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Raja said that if work was carried out according to the constitution, there would be respect and honour for those in authority. He said the PTI had no intention of any onslaught and was not a disorderly group or mob. He added that the party only wanted the rule of the constitution and law in the country.
Raja said the PTI would continue its movement and would persist in raising issues of public concern through constitutional means.
