A retired American news anchor has secured a place in the Guinness World Records by assembling the largest collection of colourful socks.
Jim Donovan, a former news anchor with CBS Philadelphia, owns 1,531 unique pairs of socks, a total verified by Guinness World Records. Donovan said that the viewers often noticed his colourful socks during his broadcasting career, after which fans began sending him socks as gifts.
Several pairs feature Donovan’s own image printed on them. These were received from fans over the years.
Speaking to Guinness World Records, Donovan said the collection reflects the affection of his viewers and their interest in his colourful socks.
