A fire broke out at the Shahi Fort due to the negligence of officials, resulting in the burning of highly valuable timber.
The incident occurred in a yard near the Shahi Fort laboratory. The fire damaged expensive wood that had been stored after renovation work on various fort buildings.
Despite a ban on lighting fires during the winter season, the incident took place. Rescue 1122 was called immediately after the outbreak. Firefighters brought the blaze under control without delay.
The Shahi Fort authorities termed the incident as minor and confirmed that the fire was swiftly contained.
