The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Wednesday clarified that internet services across Pakistan will continue to operate normally today, rejecting reports suggesting a possible shutdown due to submarine cable repairs.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority said that news circulating about an internet shutdown is “baseless, incorrect, and contrary to facts.”
According to the official statement, there is no plan to suspend or disrupt internet services anywhere in the country.
PTA confirmed that routine repair work on an international submarine cable is currently in progress. However, the authority emphasized that this maintenance activity will not affect internet services, as adequate arrangements are already in place to ensure service continuity.
Internet services stable
The regulator reassured users that internet services are fully functional and stable across Pakistan. It added that network performance is being closely observed to avoid any inconvenience to consumers.
PTA stated that it is continuously monitoring national networks to guarantee uninterrupted internet connectivity. The authority reiterated its commitment to maintaining reliable communication services during routine infrastructure maintenance.
