Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyer Faisal Chaudhry asserted on Tuesday that the incumbent government was running like an 'uncontrolled camel', with neither direction nor destination.
Speaking to media after a hearing of the GHQ attack case at the anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi, Faisal Chaudhry said that the events of May 9 had been turned into a political case. He said that even if a PTI member had been on Mars, they would have been named in the case.
He maintained these cases had lost their importance and urged the government to end political battles and focus on public welfare.
Chaudhry said the government was engaging in debates over the May 9 cases everywhere to hide its "poor performance". He said the country was facing multiple crises, but the government appeared unconcerned. He added that it seemed the government had no clear destination.
The PTI lawyer said political tensions had intensified on both sides, the government and the opposition, and any effort to reduce this heat should be welcomed. He said the release of detainees held in Kot Lakhpat Jail should be considered to ease tensions. He added that PTI founder Imran Khan should also be released in accordance with the law, if entitled to such relief.
