Eight militants were killed in an exchange of fire with police in Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Abbas Majeed Marwat said a major operation was launched after information was received about the presence of militants. He said eight militants were killed during the operation, while reports suggest several others were injured.
The RPO said that the exchange of fire between police and the militants continued for several hours. During the operation, several militant hideouts in the surrounding hills were destroyed.
