The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has officially announced winter vacations for educational institutions operating under its administration in the federal capital.
According to a notification issued by the Federal Directorate of Education, winter vacations will be observed in all model schools and colleges of Islamabad starting from December 26. The holidays will continue until January 3.
During this period, all educational institutions under the FDE will remain closed.
Classes to resume in January
The FDE notification states that academic activities will resume on Monday, January 5. Students are expected to return to their regular class schedules from that date.
The announcement provides clarity to students, parents, and teaching staff regarding the winter break timeline.
Saturday declared working day
In an important clarification, the Directorate of Education said that Saturday, January 10, will be observed as a working day for staff. This measure has been introduced to compensate for the academic time lost during the winter vacations.
The notification applies to all educational institutions functioning under the Federal Directorate of Education.
