Lahore’s luxury farmhouses, known for hosting extravagant and high-priced wedding events, are set to face official action as the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) moves toward a major crackdown.
According to officials, the authority has identified more than 100 such farmhouses operating across the city.
Sources say the PRA’s vigilance wing carried out a discreet survey to locate these venues. Because many of the farmhouses are not registered with the authority, they have been paying no taxes despite hosting frequent large-scale wedding functions.
The PRA now plans to bring all luxury farmhouses into the tax net by registering them formally. Once registered, taxes will be imposed on wedding events held at these venues, officials added.
