The Pakistan Army completed the training of the Iraqi Army’s Special Forces under its supervision. The graduation ceremony for the third batch of trainees took place after the conclusion of the programme.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the specialised training programme ran at the National Counter Terrorism Centre from September 24 to November 29. Senior officers of the Pakistan Army and military representatives from Iraq attended the graduation ceremony of the 446 Iraqi trainees in the third batch.
During the training period, troops of both countries demonstrated exceptional professional skill, operational capability and commitment. The programme focused on the enhancement of counter-terrorism abilities, tactical exercises and the planning of joint missions.
The ISPR said that all objectives of the training were achieved. The development further strengthened the long-standing defence ties between Pakistan and Iraq, and both countries reaffirmed their resolve for regional security and joint defence readiness.
