A female officer of the Rescue Emergency Services (Rescue 1122) in Lahore has resigned from her post, alleging harassment, unprofessional conduct, and retaliation by senior officers.
She also accused the department of ignoring merit and failing to act on repeated complaints.
The officer was serving as a law officer in the law wing of Rescue Emergency Services at the time of her resignation.
In her resignation letter, the female officer made serious accusations, including harassment within the law wing.
She stated that she had been subjected to unprofessional behaviour and retaliation, creating an environment that made it impossible for her to continue her duties.
The officer claimed that merit and dignity were being continuously ignored, leading to decisions and practices that she believed compromised professionalism within the organization.
Dubious appointments and ignored complaints
According to the officer, several recruitments were made based on dubious credentials, yet no corrective action was taken despite multiple complaints.
She said the lack of accountability and the department's failure to address her concerns forced her to step down.
Rescue 1122 begins investigation
A spokesperson for Rescue 1122 confirmed that the organization is investigating the contents of the resignation. “If anyone is found responsible, action will be taken according to the law,” the spokesperson said.
Rescue 1122 also emphasized that the department provides equal opportunities to all rescuers and that any violations of professional standards would be dealt with strictly.
