An Indonesian tour guide narrowly escaped death after a giant python coiled itself around him and dragged him underwater.
The incident took place on the island of Borneo, where the guide, known for his skill in handling snakes, was leading a group of tourists on a river trip. The group reportedly spotted a large python near their boat.
The guide leaned over the side of the boat in an attempt to catch the snake by its head. Instead, the python struck, pulling him into the water. Within moments, it wrapped tightly around his body and began to drag him down.
Crew members on the boat immediately jumped into the river to rescue him. Two men managed to subdue the snake—one held its head while the other gripped its tail—allowing the guide to break free.
The python was later brought onto the boat, photographed, and then released back into the wild.
Experts note that pythons are not venomous. They kill by constricting their prey, cutting off its air supply before swallowing it whole.
