A case has been registered against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) filed the case, with a sub-inspector named as the complainant. CM Afridi is accused of circulating a video on social media containing allegedly false and inflammatory statements against state institutions.
According to the first information report (FIR), the videos aimed to damage the reputation of the state and national security agencies. The FIR added that Afridi addressed the media outside Adiala Jail, criticising state institutions, and that the video was also shared via the official Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) social media pages.
