The Crime Control Department (CCD) has taken former station house officer (SHO) Adnan Virk into custody after he allegedly used obscene language against Chuhng Training Center Commandant DIG Mehboob Aslam, during a police training session in Lahore.
According to reports, Sub-Inspector Adnan Virk, who was undergoing a training course for promotion to the rank of inspector, was apprehended directly from the Chuhng Police Training Center following his inappropriate conduct.
Audio recording reaches DIG
Sources said that Adnan Virk’s audio recording, in which he was heard using abusive and obscene language against DIG Mehboob Aslam, was circulated on social media and later reached the DIG himself.
Upon learning about the matter, Aslam summoned Virk to his office and issued a strict warning over his behaviour. However, moments after leaving the DIG’s office, Virk allegedly resumed using obscene language, prompting the DIG to report the incident to the CCD for disciplinary action.
CCD takes action
Acting on the complaint, the CCD moved swiftly and detained Sub-Inspector Adnan Virk from the Chuhng Training Center premises. He was subsequently shifted to CCD custody for further interrogation.
Officials confirmed that the department has launched a formal investigation into the incident to determine the motive and context behind the officer’s remarks.
Sub-Inspector Adnan Virk has previously served as SHO at several police stations, including Mustafa Town Police Station and various police posts across Lahore.
He was currently enrolled in the inspector promotion course at the Chuhng Training Center when the incident took place. Police officials said his record and previous postings would also be reviewed as part of the investigation.
