An American woman has ended her 25-year marriage after her husband ate the last piece of cake.
According to foreign media reports, a post on the discussion website Reddit, on the page ‘AITAH’, has gone viral. In the post, the 46-year-old woman wrote that she often argued with her 48-year-old husband.
For their wedding anniversary, he had planned a trip to resolve their disagreements, but chose a hotel they had previously agreed never to visit.
She said she kept a positive mood, but upon arriving at the hotel, her husband’s temper worsened. He asked her to order dinner, and she selected three dishes, adding a cheesecake for dessert to share.
After the meal, she placed her portion of the cake in the fridge as she could not eat more, while her husband ate his share. The next morning, she discovered her portion had been eaten. When she confronted him, he initially denied it but later admitted eating her cake.
The woman explained that this incident reflected a broader pattern in their marriage. She felt that her husband habitually took what was hers, not only in trivial matters such as dessert but in everyday life. She felt that she existed solely to manage the household and his needs, receiving little in return.
The Reddit post quickly went viral, with users supporting her decision to end the marriage.
