After five decades of dedication, British brothers Ian and Stuart Paton have grown the world’s heaviest pumpkin, securing a place in the Guinness World Records.
Hailing from Lymington in Hampshire, the brothers have spent the past fifty years cultivating giant vegetables. This year, they produced a pumpkin weighing 2,819 lb 4 oz (approximately 1,278 kg).
According to Guinness World Records, the pumpkin is not only the heaviest in the world but also the largest by volume, with a circumference of 21 ft 3.8 in. The brothers have affectionately named the colossal pumpkin "Muggle".
Sebastian Suski, an official from Guinness World Records, oversaw the weighing and measurement process.
Suski said that Ian and Stuart Paton have long guided fellow growers of giant vegetables. Having the brothers themselves verify the record was a particularly special moment.
