Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza is on an official visit to the Maldives, where he met President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting covered matters of mutual interest, the global and regional security situation, and cooperation in defence and security.
General Mirza also met Minister of Defence Ghassan Maumoon and the chief of Defence Force. During these meetings, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen Pakistan–Maldives military ties and enhance defence cooperation.
The Maldivian civil and military leadership praised the professional standards of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
The spokesman said General Mirza received a guard of honour on his arrival at the Maldives National Defence Force Headquarters.
