The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday announced a new schedule for by-elections in five constituencies of Faisalabad and Sahiwal, setting November 23, 2025 as the polling date.
The decision comes under the provisions of the Election Act 2017.
According to the spokesperson of the Provincial Election Commissioner Punjab, by-elections will be conducted in NA-96, NA-104, NA-143, PP-98, and PP-203.
Key dates in revised schedule
Under the new timetable, the last date for filing appeals against Returning Officers’ decisions has been set as October 24.
The Appellate Tribunals are expected to announce their decisions by October 31, after which the revised list of candidates will be published on November 1.
Candidates wishing to withdraw from the contest can do so by November 3, while election symbols will be allotted on November 4.
ECP directs implementation of code of conduct
The Election Commission has instructed all candidates, political parties, and relevant institutions to strictly follow the code of conduct during the campaign period.
The ECP emphasized that the entire process will be carried out in line with the Election Act 2017, ensuring transparency and fair competition.
