The Punjab Motor Vehicle Ordinance has been amended to introduce fines for delayed transfer of vehicle ownership.
As per the excise department, Rule 47 of the Punjab Motor Vehicle Ordinance, 1969, has been revised to address delays in ownership transfer.
Under the new structure, a fine of Rs10,000 will apply for delays ranging from 31 to 60 days. For delays between 61 and 90 days, the fine increased to Rs 20,000. A delay of 91 to 120 days will result in a fine of Rs30,000.
