A 75-year-old man in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, who remarried just one day earlier, died under sudden and unexpected circumstances, leaving behind grief, suspicion, and unanswered questions.

Quest for companionship

The man, identified as Sangruram of Kuchhmuchh village, had been living alone since losing his wife a year ago. Struggling with loneliness, he chose to remarry despite his family’s reservations. On September 29, he wed 35-year-old Manbhavati, a mother of three from her previous marriage.

The couple formalized their marriage through court registration, followed by a simple temple ceremony with traditional rituals. Villagers recalled that Sangruram had openly expressed his desire for companionship and a supportive partner in his final years.

Sudden and shocking death

The marriage, which brought hope for a fresh start, turned tragic within hours. By the morning after the wedding, Sangruram’s health deteriorated rapidly. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

His bride, Manbhavati, told locals that the newlyweds had spent most of their wedding night talking. She added that her husband had assured her she would only need to manage household duties, while he would support her children.

Suspicion and speculation

The unexpected death has left relatives and neighbours shocked. Family members have expressed suspicions about the circumstances, though no evidence of foul play has been confirmed so far.

Police have not launched a formal investigation yet but are expected to look deeper into the case if the family files an official complaint.
