Karachi residents experienced light tremors on Wednesday morning after a 3.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the city, causing panic among the citizens.
According to the national seismological centre, the quake struck at 9:34am, with its epicentre located 7 kilometres northwest of Malir.

The seismic activity was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometres, making it a shallow earthquake. Shallow quakes are often felt more strongly on the surface despite being of low magnitude.
Tremors felt across Karachi
Residents in different parts of the city reported feeling light vibrations, particularly in areas surrounding Malir. The tremors were strongly felt in some areas, prompting citizens to rush out of their homes and offices in panic. However, no loss of life or property has been reported so far.
The Meteorological Department and related agencies are closely monitoring the situation. Experts suggest that such low-intensity earthquakes may simply be a natural release of energy along fault lines.”
