The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has, for the first time in history, introduced contracts for cricket scorers, recognizing their vital role in the domestic cricket structure.
Contracts awarded across 16 regions
According to details, 20 scorers from 16 cricket regions across the country have been awarded contracts. The contracts will remain valid from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.
This move comes as a significant shift in how scorers are valued, as previously they were only paid match fees without any formal contracts.
Boost for domestic cricket infrastructure
PCB officials believe that extending contracts to scorers will not only provide them financial stability but also motivate them to continue delivering high-quality work.
“This initiative will encourage scorers, who are an important pillar of Pakistan’s cricket system,” said Abdullah Khurram Niazi, underscoring the importance of the decision.
