A doctor suffered burns in a fire that broke out at the hostel of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC).
According to rescue sources, emergency teams brought the fire under control promptly. The cooling process remained under way.
The injured doctor was given immediate medical attention and later shifted to the burn unit at Services Hospital.
Medical Superintendent Amir Rafiq Butt said that a hospital employee, Haris, was also affected by the incident and is under treatment in the burn unit.
An investigation is under way to determine the cause of the fire.
